Inspiring Homes: Little Scandinavia in Australia :)

I have lovely memories of the little Italian coastal city Sorrento, situated on the Amalfi coast in Italy, from a few summers ago with my boyfriend. So when I saw this Scandinavian home on the beautiful website Decor Dots (check it out!) -- situated in Sorrento, Australia -- it brought up some good times :) I like the brightness of this apartment and the great details (the Pia Wallen blanket, the Eames and Bouroullec birds, the Eames LTR wire table in the fantastic bathroom!). Here's another Malmö home worth inspecting :) It's a very rustic, peaceful home where the chairs fulfill a leading role :) I spot the Arne Jacobsen Ant Chairs, a Butterfly chair and a Eames Lounge Chair Wood!

Designers: Charles & Ray Eames

My absolute favourite Mid Century Modern designers are Charles and Ray Eames. This creative couple designed a lot of beautiful furniture pieces, and my house is filled with them! :) She'd studied to be a painter and he was officialy an architect. I love how adventurous they were: if they felt like it, they would just start making movies or child's toys -- or whatever else they wanted to do :) The House Bird was actually not designed by these two, they bought it during one of their holidays. It became famous when it starred in the photos of their famous Eames House.
