My Home: Design Letters T Pot

I got myself a new Tea Pot: the Design Letters T Pot. I have a weak spot for graphic typography and the added bonus is that this font was designed by one of my favourite Midcentury Modern designers: Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. If you're also interested in updating your tea parties, you can buy these lovely Design Letters ceramics (and tea towels and stationery!) at my sponsor Kleur op Tafel!

My Week in Instagram Shots

It's been a fairly busy two weeks, if you add university, my evening job and everything surrounding Nordic Days I've been working 70 hour weeks ;) But it was also a very nice and productive period :) I've had a very nice meeting with my new sponsor MisterDesign in Den Bosch on monday and I really love their professional but still very personal approach. It was a very good and fun conversation, it's always great talking to someone who understands your love for design :) It was a lovely sunny day so I spent the remainder of the day with my boyfriend in Den Bosch on a sunny terrace. The day before (sunday) I went to a film festival in Amsterdam and saw Her, The Budapest Hotel (the new Wes Anderson) and the apparently most successful Danish film of all time: the krimi The Keeper of Lost Causes. Wow. Extremely thrilling! I think I'd have difficulty choosing between all these great movies, I appreciated them all for different reasons. Make sure to see them all! Sunday we'll watch the Oscars here at night with a few friends, a yearly tradition :)

The other good news is that my new sofa finally arrived. Let me tell you: it's no picnic to live without a sofa for a week if all you have is uncomfortable designer chairs ;) I'm someone who lives on my sofa when I'm at home: blogging, studying, you name it!

Thursday was my 27th birthday so I went to dinner and a movie (The Monuments Men, which was entertaining, but not more than that really). I've received the beautiful Menu salt and pepper shaker set I've wanted for a long time, plus several lovely HAY items (below on the right). And my long-awaited Catherine Lovatt items arrived! (two cups, a wall vase and a candle stick)
Yesterday I went to Amsterdam to see two photo exhibitions in Foam and Huis Marseille and paid a little extra visit to HAY without buying anything, I'm so proud of myself ;)
By the way I love all the sweet professional and non-professional e-mails I've been receiving for the past few weeks: good news every day! Thank you so much :)

My Home: The Eames LTR Table

Here are some photo's of my own home. I've had my Eames LTR Wire Table for a while now, but I still love its sheer simplicity :) Charles and Ray Eames actually designed it especially for a tea ceremony for the Japanese guests they invited into their home. Charlie Chaplin was also present during this ceremony, just like Isamo Noguchi who invented the famous Noguchi table.

My Home: Musical Chairs :)

A friend came to collect our old sofa today, which means that we'll be without a sofa until thursday when my new IKEA Soderhamn sofa arrives ;) That means it's time for some musical chairs ('stoelendans') until then :)

My Week in Instagram Pictures

I've had a quiet week - no classes - and I only had to work four days so I finally had some days to invest in my blog. Unfortunately there was also a funeral this week, from a beloved work colleague. Sad, sad day. Yesterday my third semester at the university started so I'll have to buck up: three courses on American Studies. Just five courses left and then I can actually call myself a proper historian :) Hope you all have a great week ahead of you!

PS Hopefully that third photo will help me win that Normann Copenhagen Block Table :) I  really appreciated the abundance of light in my home in the past few days by the way!

My Week in Instagram Shots

Like mentioned before this week has been all thesis and no play ;) So I'm just posting this visual moodboard of my week with a photo of my home office and some home interior details. Now, off to Copenhagen! My parents are staying at 'Hotel Nordic Days' for a few days ;)

My Week in Instagram Shots

I've had a few pretty busy weeks! I've painted my living room, hallway, office and kitchen. I worked full-time and had someone over to wallpaper my hallway. My boyfriend hung my Eames Hang it All and Massive lamp. We've assembled the cupboard in the office. And somewhere in between I've been writing my bachelor thesis :) -- if you're curious: it's about this guy (click). So here's a visual representation of the last 1,5 week :) I bought a lot of green bulbs, mostly hyacinths because they smell so good. They really brighten up the place! Combined with the relatively warm and sunny weather (for this time of year) it feels like spring has already started in my home :)
By the way: you can follow me on instagram here.

My Home: The Componibili

This is a bright corner by the window of my living room. The Componibili (designed in 1968!) had been on my wishlist for a long time so it got a very special place in my apartment. I'm not even sure if there is anything in it, truth be told ;)
