Inspiring Homes: Pink Accents
I never thought I'd post photos of a pink home, but I think this accent colour works particularly well in this simple white home (styled by Alvhem). I am a big fan of all the artwork on the walls, the HAY furniture and the desk (and of course the Arne Jacobsen Ant Chair!) -- but unfortunately this home has already been sold a while ago ;)

Lovely Bedrooms: Talo Pihkala
Oh isn't this the perfect bedroom vignette? It's the bedroom of Maija from Talo Pihkala. I actually own the same HAY Minimal Lemon bedding :) If you want to see more of Maija's beautiful home then take a look at the feature I did of her home a while ago here!

The HAY Copenhague Chair
I own a lot of chairs. A lot. That doesn't seem like a problem until you realise that my boyfriend and I live in a very small 40m2 apartment -- in a secluded courtyard in the middle of the historic heart of Utrecht. This is a city near the more 'infamous' Amsterdam ;) With that size in mind eight chairs is a lot. Six of those are midcentury design classics: five Eames chairs and one Bertoia chair. I also own two modern chairs; a yellow chair from the Dutch brand Zuiver and the HAY About a Chair AAC22.
My boyfriend made my day last week when, out of nowhere, he suggested that there was room for one more chair! I did have to promise him that this one would be the last :) I love HAY and decided that I wanted more contemporary Nordic design in my house to even out all the midcentury. Those two design styles combine so beautifully. I opted for a small and simple chair as I'd like to keep the open feel in my home. We might live in a small place but our ceilings are 6 meters high, giving our apartment the illusion of spaciousness :)
So here it is, the HAY Copenhague chair. It was designed by famous designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec -- who also did a lot of work for Vitra. The chair was designed especially for the University of Copenhagen (hence the name). Can't wait until it arrives :)
Friday Favourites: HAY Building Blocks
It was love at first sight. How do you manage to turn simple wooden blocks into an art form? :) Too bad they're €60 euro a set. Gonna think about that for a while :) Good thing I'll be in HAY Heaven in a month!
Great Brands: HAY
HAY is a Danish company that was founded in 2002 by Rolf and Mette Hay. They were influenced by Danish design from the 1950's and 1960's but gave it a distinctly modern twist. I don't think they've made something that I didn't like :) My local HAY supplier is just around the corner, so if my boyfriend screws up somehow he knows what to do ;)
